About

Hello. I'm Sarah and I am the founder of Read Well.
I am a qualified teacher with many years experience in both primary and secondary schools as well as in adult education. I have also had a dual career as an editor in educational publishing, specialising in books and programmes to help with learning to read. It is this combined experience, together with a desire to make a positive impact, that has led me to set up Read Well.
At Read Well, I believe that everyone can learn to read well with the right teaching and support, and with an approach that is individual to each learner. That's why at Read Well I only offer one-to-one sessions as this is the best way for all learners be able to work in a stress-free and personalised environment.
I use strategies from the science of reading and aim to help everyone learn to read, whatever your age or experience. My ultimate aim is for you to love reading and to enjoy reading for pleasure. I can help with all aspects of reading, which can include some or all of the following: phonemic awareness; phonics; language and vocabulary; comprehension and fluency as well as spelling.
So whether you:
-
have or do not have a formal diagnosis of dyslexia*
-
need help with phonemic awareness, sound-letter correspondences and phonics
-
would like to improve your spelling
-
would like to read more confidently with fluency, rhythm and expression
-
would like to improve your handwriting
Read Well is based in Haywards Heath in West Sussex.
* I do not offer diagnostic testing for dyslexia at Read Well. But I certainly aim to help you learn to read whether you have a formal diagnosis or not.
